On April 6, 2023, a tragic incident occurred in Calumet City, Illinois, resulting in the death of 5-year-old Kentrell Pouncey. The incident took place in the 200 block of Paxton Avenue, where Calumet City police and fire officials responded to a report of a child being shot around 9 p.m..
