On February 2, 2024, 43-year-old Victoria Tillotson of Moline, Illinois, was found dead inside a parked car at an apartment building in the 3600 block of 25th Street in Moline. The discovery was made around 11:45 a.m. when officers from the Moline Police Department responded to the scene.
The investigation revealed that Tillotson had been shot by a handgun while sitting inside the vehicle.
The Rock Island County Coroner, Brian Gustafson, confirmed that the preliminary autopsy indicated she died from a gunshot wound to the head.
Tillotson was in a dating relationship with 35-year-old David J. McAdams of Rock Island. Following the investigation, McAdams was charged in connection with the incident. The charges include first-degree murder, unlawful use of weapons by a felon, and concealment of a homicidal death. McAdams made his first court appearance on February 8, 2024.
The case is ongoing and remains under investigation by the Moline Police Department and the Rock Island County Coroner's Office. Authorities have urged anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers of the Quad Cities or the Moline Police Department.
