On April 26, 2024, Julie M. VonSchlegell Elguezabal, a 49-year-old resident of Villa Park, Illinois, was tragically killed by her husband, Winston Elguezabal, in a murder-suicide incident.

Winston Elguezabal had been arrested on April 14, 2024, and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery against his estranged wife, Julie. According to court records, he was accused of pulling Julie's hair and punching her several times in the face, neck, and back.
