Thomas Antoine, a 30-year-old resident of Peoria, Illinois, was the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred in the West Bluff area of Peoria. The incident took place early in the morning of May 4, 2024. Peoria police officers responded to a report of a person shot in the area of North Gale and Underhill around 1:25 a.m. Upon arrival, they found Antoine unresponsive and not breathing inside a vehicle that had also been struck by gunfire.
Despite immediate lifesaving measures performed by the officers, Antoine was pronounced dead at 2:18 a.m. in the trauma room at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. The Peoria County Coroner's Office later identified the victim as Thomas Antoine, who resided on Main Street in Peoria.
This incident marked the sixth homicide in Peoria for the year 2024. The investigation into Antoine's death is ongoing, and as of the latest reports, there is no suspect information available. An autopsy for Antoine was scheduled to take place on the Monday following the incident to further investigate the circumstances of his death.
