Richard "Tony" Rubalcava, a 42-year-old prominent Chicago wrestler known by his ring name "Superbad Santana Starks," was fatally shot on June 3, 2024, in Justice, Illinois. The incident occurred outside his residence in the 8100 block of 84th Place, where a group of young people had gathered. Rubalcava's young adult daughter had called him outside to investigate the commotion, and upon arriving, he instructed her to run back inside. Seconds later, gunshots were heard, and Rubalcava was hit multiple times before he could seek safety.
When Justice police officers arrived at the scene, they found Rubalcava gravely injured with multiple gunshot wounds. The officers applied life-saving measures until the Robert's Park Fire Department arrived, and Rubalcava was then transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. Despite the efforts, he succumbed to his injuries about 20 minutes later at the hospital.

Rubalcava was a well-respected figure in the professional wrestling community and was known for his kindness and generosity. He also had a passion for other activities such as BattleBots and airsofting, which he enjoyed with his 12-year-old son. Rubalcava was a single father who raised three daughters and shared custody of his son.
