Keith Sterling, a 36-year-old man, was shot and killed on December 9, 2014, at a home on Jacksonville's Westside. His body was found on the porch of a residence on Lane Avenue South. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) described a suspect as a middle-aged Black man who was seen driving an older, gold-colored Toyota Camry with a spoiler. Authorities believe the vehicle was used in the crime, and Crimestoppers is offering a $3,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
In connection with the case, Lawrence Albert Williams, 39, was sentenced to 45 years in prison as an accessory in Sterling's murder. Investigators pursued various leads, and the involvement of multiple individuals was uncovered, leading to charges and convictions for those associated with the crime. Despite these efforts, the main suspect remains at large, and JSO continues to seek help from the public to solve the case.
