In the quiet town of Warrenton, Georgia, the life of 28-year-old KeVeonta Quamez Hill was tragically cut short on Sunday, September 22, 2024. A male resident of Augusta, Hill was found with gunshot wounds inside a home located in the 100 block of Culpepper Street. The Warrenton Police Department responded to a shooting call at approximately 4:20 p.m.
and discovered Hill at the scene, where he was pronounced dead.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has since taken the lead in a homicide investigation into Hill's death. An autopsy was scheduled to be performed at the GBI Crime Lab in Decatur to determine the exact cause and manner of death. As of late September 2024, the investigation was described as active and ongoing.
Authorities have not released any information regarding potential suspects or any arrests made in connection with the shooting. The GBI has encouraged anyone with information to contact their regional investigative office in Thomson or the Warrenton Police Department.
KeVeonta Hill was remembered by his family as a funny and family-oriented man who loved spending time with his children. He was a graduate of the Georgia National Guard Youth Challenge Academy and had joined the workforce after his schooling. His family, including his loving fiancé and three children, were left to cherish his memory.
