On a Sunday afternoon in Washington, D.C., the life of 19-year-old Jerry Hardy III was tragically cut short. The young Black man was fatally shot on June 23, 2024, in the 200 block of 37th Place, Southeast. At approximately 2:11 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting and discovered Hardy on the sidewalk, suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
