The events unfolded early Sunday morning when Lacorvis Tamar Daley, the live-in boyfriend of Damionna's mother's daughter, became involved in a heated argument with his girlfriend over the phone.
Daley, who had a history of domestic violence and battery and was a four-time convicted felon, threatened to harm his girlfriend's mother, Carole Fulmore, if she did not return home.
At 2:18 a.m., Carole Fulmore sent a frantic text to her daughter, stating, "Help. He's shooting a gun. Call 911." The daughter immediately called the police, and officers arrived at the residence at around 2:25 a.m. Upon arrival, they heard shots being fired inside the home and called for backup. When Daley emerged from the home and began firing at the officers, they responded with gunfire, resulting in Daley's death.
Inside the home, police found the bodies of Carole Fulmore, 69, and Damionna Reed, 13, who were both declared dead at the scene. A third victim, 7-year-old Cameron Bouie, was rushed to a hospital but eventually succumbed to his injuries.
Witnesses reported that Daley had been acting erratically and had become paranoid in the days leading up to the incident, claiming that people were conspiring against him.
