German Amado de la Cruz Jr., a 49-year-old business owner, was fatally shot on April 10, 2024, inside his jet ski repair shop in the Brownsville neighborhood of Miami. The incident occurred when a gunman, identified as Joseph Fullwood, entered the shop and shot de la Cruz point blank. De la Cruz was working at his Miami Beach Jet Ski Rentals shop at the time of the shooting.
Fullwood, 46 years old, fled the scene on his bicycle but was arrested the next day by the Miami-Dade police.
According to the arrest report, Fullwood confessed to the shooting, stating that he had heard rumors that de la Cruz was known as a "snitch" in the streets. De la Cruz was found on the ground by a witness, suffering from a gunshot wound, and was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was well known in the area, having operated his business at the Brownsville warehouse for about six years.
Fullwood is currently facing a second-degree murder charge and remains behind bars as he awaits trial. He has pleaded not guilty and is scheduled to appear in court again in October.
