On April 26, 2024, an 11-year-old boy named Amir Williams was accidentally shot and killed by his 14-year-old brother in a home located in the 1400 block of 43rd Street South in St. Petersburg, Florida. The incident occurred when the siblings, including a 13-year-old sister, were at home due to a school holiday.
