Marquette Dames, a 24-year-old resident of Tampa, Florida, was tragically killed on July 6, 2016, in a violent incident that remains unsolved. On the day of his death, Dames left his house and walked to a family member's home. When no one answered the door, he began walking back home. At some point, he encountered an individual who attacked him physically and then shot him as he tried to flee. Dames was also robbed during the incident and later died from his injuries.
The shooting took place near the intersection of 15th Street and Fowler Avenue, not far from a local Checkers restaurant. Surveillance footage captured a suspect riding a bicycle near the scene shortly before the attack, but despite police efforts to identify the individual, no arrests have been made.
