On June 24, 2024, Sacouya Starquez Jonquila Brice, a 29-year-old woman from Bradenton, Florida, was fatally shot by her cousin, Javontee Brice, during a violent killing spree in Manatee County.

The incident occurred around 9:40 p.m. in the 900 block of 26th Street Court East in Palmetto. Sacouya had been at a cookout in the area and was getting into her parked SUV when Javontee Brice approached and shot her.
