In the quiet, rural landscape of Westcliffe, Colorado, a long-simmering property dispute violently erupted on November 20, 2023, claiming the life of 63-year-old Rob Geers. Geers, a White male, was fatally shot along with his 73-year-old wife, Beth Wade, and a neighbor, 58-year-old James Daulton. The tranquil, wooded area near a shared property line became a scene of tragedy that shook the small community.
The conflict had been brewing for several years, centered around an easement and
access to a gravel road. Court documents revealed a history of disputes between Geers and his neighbor, Hanme Clark. On that fateful Monday afternoon, Geers was with a surveyor on his property when Clark allegedly approached them, yelling about trespassing before opening fire. While the surveyor managed to escape unharmed, the ensuing violence left three dead and James Daulton's wife, Patty, critically injured with multiple gunshot wounds.
