In the quiet town of Pocahontas, Arkansas, a devastating scene unfolded in early November 2024, leaving the community in mourning. Forty-year-old Hanna Dawsey, a dedicated registered nurse and nursing instructor, was found deceased in her home on Hospital Drive along with her 14-year-old son, Asher Dawsey. The discovery was made on the morning of Monday, November 4th, after a concerned family member, unable to make contact with the family, went to check on them and alerted the authorities.
Upon entering the residence, Pocahontas Police discovered the bodies of Hanna, Asher, and Hanna's husband, Nick Dawsey. The ensuing investigation, with assistance from the Arkansas State Police, quickly pointed towards a grim conclusion. Authorities believe that on Sunday, November 3rd, Nick Dawsey fatally shot his wife, Hanna, and their teenage son before turning the gun on himself in a tragic double murder-suicide. Investigators noted that there had been prior reports of domestic issues at the home. The bodies were sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for autopsy to confirm the causes of death.
