In the quiet community of Dille, West Virginia, a family dispute on January 28, 2023, ended in the tragic death of Cory Tyler Garvin-Ward, a 31-year-old Caucasian male from Birch River. The fatal encounter occurred at a residence on Youngs Monument Road, where an argument over stolen property escalated with deadly consequences. Cory was shot in the chest and, despite being rushed to Summersville Memorial Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
