On April 30, 2024, Brooklyn Michelle Barrett, a 21-year-old woman from Saratoga Springs, Utah, was fatally shot by her friend, Heavenly Faith Garfield, as part of a suicide pact. The incident was reported by Garfield's father, who called 911 stating that his daughter had shot and killed Barrett according to their suicide pact. Upon arrival, police found Barrett's body in an upstairs bedroom with an obvious gunshot wound to the head, covered with a blanket and surrounded by flowers.
