On a summer evening in Tempe, Arizona, a confrontation at a motel tragically ended the life of 25-year-old Jonathan L. Williams. An African-American man, Williams was involved in an altercation with a Tempe Police Department officer on Friday, July 18, 2014, at a motel located at 1612 N Scottsdale Rd. During the encounter, it was reported that Williams fired a gun at the officer.
