Jonathan L. Williams, a 25-year-old African-American male, died on July 18, 2014, in Tempe, Arizona. The incident occurred at 1612 N Scottsdale Rd, within Maricopa County.

According to reports, Williams was involved in a confrontation with an officer from the Tempe Police Department. During this encounter, Williams reportedly fired a gun at the officer. In response to this threat, the officer returned fire, resulting in Williams' death.
