On a tragic day in March 2014, a dedicated public servant, 43-year-old Detective John Thomas Hobbs, lost his life in a violent confrontation. A 21-year veteran of the Phoenix Police Department, Detective Hobbs was part of the Fugitive Apprehension Team that was attempting to serve a felony warrant on a man wanted in connection with a murder. The suspect had recently been released from prison.
