The incident occurred while his young daughter was visiting for the holidays. Two unknown assailants entered the apartment and shot Tillie multiple times while his daughter was in another room.

adequate security. The family received a $3.6 million settlement in a wrongful death claim, citing negligence on the part of the apartment's management to address security issues despite prior incidents involving violent crime on the property, including shootings and stabbings.
