Their road trip, however, came to a tragic and violent end in the remote landscape of Sawmill, Arizona, on the Navajo Nation Indian Reservation. On March 21, 2020, the brothers were found deceased, having been fatally shot.
The medical examiner would later rule both of their deaths as homicides.

Despite the ongoing efforts of law enforcement, no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with the murders. Authorities have expressed their confidence that someone within the community may hold information crucial to solving the case. A reward of up to $10,000 has been offered for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the individual or individuals responsible for the deaths of Philip and Matthew Reagan.
