On April 27, 2020, Katherine Oropeza, aged 70, and her husband, Jose Oropeza, aged 67, were found dead in their residence in Claypool, Arizona. The bodies of the couple were discovered following a fire at their home. Investigations by the Gila County Sheriff's Office revealed that both victims had suffered gunshot wounds, indicating they were shot before the fire.
