In the early morning hours of a Thursday in Arivaca, Arizona, a violent encounter left two women shot. Pima County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call around 1 a.m. and discovered a grim scene. Inside a residence, 33-year-old Kaycie Mattias had been fatally wounded and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her mother, 55-year-old Monica Gilkey, was also found with gunshot wounds. She was transported to a local hospital but ultimately succumbed to her injuries.
