On January 13, 2013, the bodies of Gary Erwin a 67 year old, white male and his roommate, Melvin Enokenty Kosbruk 28 year old, male, were discovered inside their apartment in the 500 block of Irwin Street in Anchorage. They were found by their landlord, after a family member of one of the roommates had called to check on their welfare. This prompted the Anchorage Police Department to open a double‐homicide investigation, case number 13-1972.
