On April 8, 2024, a heated argument in Phoenix, Arizona, tragically escalated, leaving 39-year-old Prince Levelt Lackey, a male, dead from at least one gunshot wound. The fatal encounter occurred around 11:45 a.m. near Mountain View Road and 18th Avenue. Phoenix police officers responded to a call about a shooting and, upon their arrival, discovered Lackey, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Detectives were called in to take over the investigation.
Their preliminary findings suggest that an argument between Lackey and another man, identified as 29-year-old Pedro Vazquez, preceded the deadly shooting. It is believed that during this dispute, Vazquez shot Lackey.
Following the incident, authorities located Pedro Vazquez and took him into custody. During an interview with detectives after his arrest, Vazquez reportedly made admissions regarding the shooting. He was subsequently booked into jail on a charge of murder. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the argument and subsequent shooting remains ongoing.
