Police Officer Joshua Briese, aged 24, died in the line of duty on June 1, 2024, while responding to a disturbance call in the Santan area of the Gila River Indian Community. The incident occurred at approximately 2:00 a.m. when Officer Briese and his training partner arrived at a home to address a reported disturbance involving a large crowd.
