On an April evening in 2017, a gathering of friends in an Omaha, Nebraska, apartment would end in tragedy for 29-year-old Brandon Mutum, a White male. The date was April 20th, and what began as a social get-together took a dark turn over a seemingly trivial matter. An argument erupted between Mutum and another man, 21-year-old Malcolm Ward.
