In the early morning hours of June 27, 2017, the quiet of the Schuyler Inn in Schuyler, Nebraska, was shattered by the violent death of 33-year-old Janner Ramon Torres Diaz, a Hispanic male. An employee of the local Cargill plant, Torres Diaz had been residing at the motel for several months. Officers discovered him in his room, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
