In the spring of 2018, the life of 18-year-old Colten J. Jensen, a White male from rural Hoskins, Nebraska, was tragically cut short. On May 23, 2018, Jensen passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney from a gunshot wound sustained in an incident near Burwell. The young man, who had recently graduated from Winside High School as a member of the National Honor Society, was working as a ranch hand in the Burwell area at the time of his death.
