On February 20, 2024, a tragic double homicide occurred in Bloomfield, Nebraska, claiming the lives of William Reffett, 49, from Center, and Curtis Strom, 77, from Bloomfield. The incident took place at Curt's Lanes and Dining, a bowling alley owned by Strom since 1973.
