Thomas C. McCullough, a male guard age 40, was mortally wounded during an incident at the New Castle County Workhouse near Greenbank/Prices Corner, Delaware, on March 23, 1910. According to contemporary accounts, a prisoner seized a guard's service revolver during the morning routine as inmates were being taken to breakfast, shot that guard twice, and then fired at close range at Guard Thomas C.
