On March 31, 2018, in Norridgewock, Maine, authorities discovered the bodies of 62-year-old William Hale and his 58-year-old wife, Marie Lancaster-Hale, in their home on Skowhegan Road (U.S. Route 2). Both had sustained fatal gunshot wounds, and their family dog was also found deceased at the scene. The incident was determined to be a domestic violence-related murder-suicide.
