In the summer of 2019, a simmering dispute in the parking lot of an Auburn, Maine Walmart escalated into a fatal encounter for Jean Fournier, a 41-year-old White male from Turner. The evening of July 27th ended in tragedy when Fournier was shot and killed. The incident, which police later stated was not a random act of violence, led to an investigation that quickly centered on a single suspect.
