On June 14, 1990, Deputy Sheriff Janet Louise Rogers, aged 39, was fatally shot during a confrontation with a bank robbery suspect near Hardin, Montana. At approximately 1:30 p.m., Deputy Rogers and fellow officers pursued the suspect until her patrol car collided with the suspect's vehicle, bringing the chase to an end.
