On July 26, 2023, a tragic incident occurred at the Rexford Bench boat launch on Lake Koocanusa in northwestern Montana, claiming the life of 40-year-old Eric Ray Newman from Rexford, MT. A verbal dispute erupted between Newman and another man, identified as 51-year-old Christopher Foster from Kalispell, MT, while they were loading their boats at the ramp.
