On a Tuesday afternoon in Belgrade, Montana, the quiet of the Lexley Acres mobile home park was shattered by a grim discovery. The life of George Keyser Sobrepena, a 76-year-old Caucasian male, came to a violent end on October 31, 2023. An autopsy would later confirm that he died from multiple gunshot wounds.
The events that brought law enforcement to his home began to unfold when a woman approached a nearby construction worker and asked him to follow her. The worker sent two of his colleagues with the woman back to her residence. Upon entering, they found a person on the floor bleeding and unresponsive. A call to 911 was placed at approximately 1:17 p.m.
When Gallatin County Sheriff's deputies and emergency crews arrived at the mobile home, they were met by 42-year-old Heather Ann Harrington. Initially, she denied that anything was wrong, but eventually agreed to come outside. Once inside the residence, deputies discovered Mr.
Sobrepena's body in the kitchen, lying in a pool of blood. Investigators noted what appeared to be bullet strikes in the floor around him and found four fired casings and two fired bullets. A handgun was also located in the living room of the home.
In the wake of the investigation, Heather Ann Harrington was arrested. She was subsequently charged with Deliberate Homicide and Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence. A judge ordered her to be held at the Gallatin County Detention Center without bond.
