Linda Carol Huff, a 33-year-old Idaho State Police trooper, was tragically killed in the line of duty on June 17, 1998. The incident occurred in the parking lot behind the Idaho State Police District 1 station in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
A male suspect, riding a bicycle, ambushed Trooper Huff, shooting her 17 times. Despite being critically injured, Huff managed to return fire, striking the suspect twice. The suspect was apprehended shortly after the incident.
