In the early morning hours of Thursday, August 4, 2005, a sense of unease settled over the unit block of Danbury Street in Southwest Washington, D.C. At approximately 4:30 a.m., the quiet was shattered by the sound of gunfire. When the echoes faded, a man lay dead, the victim of a fatal shooting. The man was later identified as 23-year-old Rauque Johnson of Northeast Washington.
