In the early morning hours of Saturday, August 12, 2006, a chaotic scene unfolded on the 1400 block of Fairmont Street, NW in Washington, D.C., that would ultimately claim the life of 25-year-old Tarran Steven Miller. At approximately 12:05 a.m., the sound of gunfire shattered the night, causing Miller to flee for his life. As he was attempting to escape the unknown assailant or assailants who were shooting at him, a vehicle struck him and fled the scene.
