On a crisp autumn day, Halloween of 1971, the body of 28-year-old Daniel O'Connell of Lowell, Massachusetts, was discovered in a wooded area just off Route 106 in Loudon, New Hampshire. An autopsy would later reveal a brutal end to the young man's life; he had sustained shotgun wounds and significant blunt force trauma to his head and face, injuries that collectively led to his death.
