Ricky Rushlow, a 59-year-old resident of Swanton, Vermont, was found dead in his home on October 14, 2018. His death was initially considered suspicious, and an autopsy was performed to determine the cause.

The autopsy, conducted by the Chief Medical Examiner's Office in Burlington, revealed that Rushlow died from a gunshot wound to the torso. The manner of death was ruled a homicide.
