On a Sunday night, the life of Scott Douglas Lanpher Sr., a 35-year-old Caucasian male, was tragically cut short at his home in Leicester, Vermont, on June 4, 2023. Authorities who responded to a 911 call about a disturbance on U.S. Route 7 shortly before 10 p.m. found Lanpher deceased at the scene. An autopsy later confirmed that he died from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body, and his death was ruled a homicide.
