On April 13, 2014, 42-year-old Yusef A'Vant was fatally shot at Krazy Kuts Barber Shop in East Providence, Rhode Island, where he was the owner and operator. The incident occurred when Thomas Mosely entered the barbershop armed with a silver revolver, confronted A'Vant, and, after a brief struggle, shot him in the abdomen.
