In the quiet farm country near Redfield, South Dakota, a deadly confrontation unfolded on May 13, 1927. Prohibition Agent Charles Bintliff, a Caucasian male of 38 years, along with Deputy Sheriff Charles Halpin and other officers, converged on a farm situated seven miles east of the town.
