On the evening of June 6, 2024, 18-year-old Wanbli Taylor Janis was fatally shot in Memorial Park, Rapid City, South Dakota. Police responded to reports of a shooting around 10:00 p.m. and found Janis suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers administered emergency first aid before a medical unit transported him to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
