The tragic death of 3-year-old Charles Haven occurred on February 9, 1930, near Watford City, North Dakota. He was not the sole victim; his entire family, including his parents, Albert and Lulia, and his siblings, 18-year-old Daniel, 14-year-old Leland, and 2-month-old Mary, were also killed. The perpetrator was Charles Bannon, a hired hand who had worked on the Haven family farm.
