40-year-old Jeremiah Medenwald of Hankinson, North Dakota, was fatally shot on the evening of January 16, 2023. The incident occurred outside the Wahpeton Community Center and hockey arena. Medenwald was sitting in a parked car when an assailant fired multiple shots at the vehicle, striking him at least once.
