On January 5, 1977, in Mobile, Alabama, Edward Assad Nassar, a 33-year-old pawnshop owner, was fatally shot during a robbery at his establishment on Springhill Avenue. The assailants, John Louis Evans III and Wayne Eugene Ritter, entered the pawnshop with the intent to rob it. During the course of the robbery, Evans shot Nassar in the back, resulting in his death.
