In the late hours of a Tuesday evening in Washington, D.C., a sequence of events unfolded that would end in the tragic death of 38-year-old Edward Eugene Hall Jr. On September 9, 2014, at approximately 11:07 pm, police responded to a report of a stabbing at the intersection of 1st and Brandywine Streets in the Southeast quadrant of the city. Upon arrival, officers discovered Hall suffering from multiple stab wounds. Emergency medical services rushed him to a local hospital in critical condition.
