On January 8, 2014, 34-year-old Johnathan Austin Evans of Hobson City, Alabama, passed away. His funeral services were held on January 16, 2014, at Gaines Chapel AME Church, officiated by Rev. James A. Platt. He was laid to rest in Eden Hills Cemetery.
